Locksmith in Newmarket, Ontario: Service Area and Coverage
Every community we cover, with the real drive time from Newmarket to each one — not a list of town names copied off a map. Plus a full directory of every local page on this site.
Quick answer
Locksmith Newmarket Ontario covers Newmarket and its neighbourhoods, the East Gwillimbury communities, Georgina and the lakeshore, Bradford and South Simcoe, and the southern York Region towns. Response to a Newmarket address is typically 20 to 30 minutes. Everywhere else is that base time plus honest drive time, which is listed town by town below.
Almost every locksmith site in the province carries a list of towns at the bottom of every page. Most of those lists mean nothing — they are typed once and never checked, and they imply a van in each town that does not exist. This page does the opposite. It sets out exactly where a locksmith in Newmarket, Ontario can realistically reach, how long it takes to get there, and what the 20 to 30 minute figure on the rest of this site actually covers.
The geography is simple once you see it. Newmarket sits in the middle of York Region, roughly 45 km north of Toronto, with Highway 404 on its east side and Highway 400 about fifteen minutes west across the Holland Marsh. Yonge Street runs north to south through the middle of town, Davis Drive and Mulock Drive run east to west, and Green Lane and Bathurst Street mark the top and the western edge. Everything we cover radiates out from that grid.
We have worked from that base since 2000, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Below is the full coverage list with drive times, followed by a directory of every town and neighbourhood page on this site so you can go straight to the one that applies to you.
What the 20 to 30 minute figure does and does not mean
It is a real number for a real set of circumstances. It is not a promise for every job in every town.
The response time quoted across this site is 20 to 30 minutes to a Newmarket address, and it holds up in normal conditions on an emergency dispatch. That is the honest reading of it. Here is where it applies and where it does not, so nobody is standing on a porch doing arithmetic they were never given.
- It applies to emergency call-outs to a Newmarket address — house and car lockouts, a broken key, a door that will not secure — at any hour, on any day of the year.
- It applies to Newmarket neighbourhoods generally: Central Newmarket, Glenway Estates, Stonehaven, Summerhill, Armitage, Huron Heights, Woodland Hill, Bristol-London, Gorham–College Manor, Quaker Hill and Copper Hills. Cross-town driving here is eight to fourteen minutes.
- It does not apply to other towns. Aurora and Holland Landing are close to it; Sutton and Pefferlaw are honestly 35 to 50 minutes. Every town below has its own figure.
- It does not apply to booked installation work. A camera install, an access control system or a master key survey is scheduled for a half or full day rather than dispatched.
- It does not apply when the job needs a part that is not on the van — an unusual multipoint keeper, a discontinued mortise body, a specific proximity fob. We will say so on the phone rather than arrive and then tell you.
- It stretches in severe weather, and it stretches on the two or three busiest nights of the year. In a February ice storm nobody should be promising twenty minutes, and we do not.
When you call, you get the honest figure for your actual address and the actual hour, not the number printed on the website. If a van from a neighbouring town is genuinely closer to you at three in the morning, you will hear that too.
Newmarket itself: the neighbourhoods
Roughly 90,000 people across a town you can cross in about a quarter of an hour.
Newmarket runs from Green Lane in the north to the Aurora boundary in the south, and from Bathurst Street west to the 404. The housing mix changes noticeably as you move through it, and so do the lock problems. Century homes and rebuilt mortise locks around Main Street South and Fairy Lake. Late-1980s and 1990s subdivisions with builder-grade hardware still on its original short strike screws through Glenway and Stonehaven. Newer townhouse and condo stock around Yonge and Davis with fob-controlled common entries. Small-business plazas along Davis Drive, Mulock Drive and Leslie Street.
- Glenway Estates — west of Yonge off Bathurst and Davis. Late-1980s detached stock, original knob-and-deadbolt sets, frequent strike misalignment. 8 to 15 minutes.
- Stonehaven — east side, off Leslie and Mulock. Late-1990s builds, deadbolts keyed alike to the knob, garage-to-house doors worth upgrading. 8 to 15 minutes.
- Summerhill Estates — north-east of Davis and Leslie. 1990s and 2000s detached and link homes, insulated steel entry doors. 8 to 15 minutes.
- Huron Heights — east of Yonge around Mulock and Bayview. Mixed 1970s and 1980s stock and a lot of side-door and patio work. 8 to 15 minutes.
- Armitage — south-east, near Bayview and Mulock. Established subdivisions with 1980s hardware reaching the end of its service life. 8 to 15 minutes.
- Central Newmarket, Main Street South, Botsford, Prospect and the Fairy Lake streets — century homes, mortise locks and doors that were never bored for modern cylindrical hardware. 5 to 12 minutes.
- Woodland Hill, Copper Hills, Bristol-London, Gorham–College Manor and Quaker Hill — 2000s subdivisions, multipoint patio hardware and smart-lock-ready entries. 10 to 18 minutes.
Commercial coverage inside Newmarket runs from the Upper Canada Mall corridor and the Yonge Street storefronts to the professional buildings around Southlake and Davis Drive, and out to the industrial units on Harry Walker Parkway and Pony Drive. That work is mostly lock changes, exit hardware, closers and master key systems rather than emergency call-outs.
East Gwillimbury and the northern communities
The closest neighbours, and some of the fastest calls after Newmarket itself.
East Gwillimbury wraps around Newmarket to the north and east, and its communities are small, separate and growing quickly. Holland Landing and Sharon are effectively an extension of the Newmarket grid up Yonge Street and Leslie Street. Queensville and Mount Albert sit further out on concession roads. The newer subdivisions here — particularly around the Green Lane and 2nd Concession area — carry more multipoint patio hardware and smart-lock prep than older Newmarket stock, and more 70 mm backsets.
| Community | Route from Newmarket | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Holland Landing | North on Yonge past Green Lane | 10 – 15 minutes |
| Sharon | North on Leslie or Woodbine | 10 – 15 minutes |
| East Gwillimbury (Green Lane corridor) | Green Lane east or west | 10 – 18 minutes |
| Queensville | Leslie north to Queensville Sideroad | 15 – 22 minutes |
| Mount Albert | Davis Drive east, then Mount Albert Road | 20 – 28 minutes |
Pages for each: Holland Landing, Sharon, East Gwillimbury, Queensville, and Mount Albert — which has two pages on this site, a general Mount Albert locksmith page and a 24-hour Mount Albert callout page.
Drive times are honest estimates for normal traffic and road conditions, not guarantees. Add time for winter weather and for concession roads after a storm.
Georgina, Keswick and the Lake Simcoe shore
The longest regular drives we make, and worth being straight about.
Georgina is the northern edge of York Region and it is a genuinely different kind of coverage. Keswick is reached straight up Highway 404 to the Ravenshoe Road exit or up Woodbine Avenue, and it is the closest of the lakeshore communities. Sutton, Jacksons Point and Pefferlaw are further along the shore, and Pefferlaw in particular is a real drive. The housing mix out here includes a large share of seasonal and converted-cottage properties, which brings its own problems: doors that were never hung square, hardware that has sat through several winters unused, and a lot of properties standing empty for months at a time.
| Community | Route from Newmarket | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Keswick | Highway 404 north to Ravenshoe, or Woodbine | 20 – 30 minutes |
| Georgina (Woodbine and Ravenshoe area) | 404 north | 22 – 32 minutes |
| Sutton | 404 north then Dalton Road | 30 – 40 minutes |
| Jacksons Point | 404 north through Sutton to the lakeshore | 35 – 45 minutes |
| Pefferlaw | 404 north then Ravenshoe east | 40 – 50 minutes |
Pages for each: Keswick, Georgina, Sutton, Jacksons Point and Pefferlaw. For an empty cottage or a property being turned over between tenants, booking the visit rather than calling it in as an emergency is far cheaper — see when rekeying makes sense.
These are realistic estimates rather than guarantees. Seasonal traffic on summer weekends and winter conditions on the concession roads both add time, and we will tell you when they have.
Bradford, Bond Head and South Simcoe
West across the Holland Marsh, into a different county but a short drive.
Bradford West Gwillimbury sits about twenty minutes west and north of Newmarket, across the Holland Marsh on Highway 400 or along the concession roads from Bathurst. It is in Simcoe County rather than York Region, which matters for municipal paperwork and for nothing else about a lock. Bradford’s town centre is dense with older Holland Street housing and small commercial units; the newer subdivisions off Line 6 and Professor Day Drive are 2000s and 2010s builds with the hardware to match. Bond Head sits further west at Highway 27 and County Road 88, and Schomberg is south-west of it, back inside York Region in the Township of King.
| Community | Route from Newmarket | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Bradford (Holland Street area) | Green Lane west to Highway 400, or Bathurst north | 20 – 28 minutes |
| Bradford West Gwillimbury (outlying) | 400 north or concession roads | 22 – 35 minutes |
| Bond Head | West on County Road 88 through Bradford | 25 – 35 minutes |
| Schomberg | Bathurst south to Highway 9, then west | 30 – 40 minutes |
Pages for each: Bradford, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Bond Head and Schomberg.
Estimates for normal conditions. The Holland Marsh roads and Highway 9 both slow considerably in snow and fog, which is common here in late autumn.
Aurora, King City, Richmond Hill and Stouffville
South and east across York Region.
Aurora is the immediate neighbour and effectively a continuation of Newmarket down Yonge and Bayview — a call there is barely slower than a call to the far side of our own town. King City is west and south along Bathurst, a mix of large-lot rural properties and the newer village core, where high-security and restricted key work is more common than average. Richmond Hill is further south again down Yonge or the 404 and is the point at which another company’s van may genuinely be closer to you than ours. Stouffville is east on Aurora Road or Bloomington, through farmland, and is closer in time than the map suggests.
| Community | Route from Newmarket | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Aurora | South on Yonge or Bayview | 10 – 18 minutes |
| King City | Bathurst south, or 400 to King Road | 20 – 30 minutes |
| Stouffville | Aurora Road or Bloomington east | 25 – 35 minutes |
| Richmond Hill (north) | Yonge or 404 south | 25 – 35 minutes |
| Richmond Hill (south) | 404 south to Highway 7 | 35 – 50 minutes |
Pages for each: Aurora, King City, Stouffville and Richmond Hill.
Rush hour on Yonge Street and on the 404 south of Aurora Road is the single biggest variable here. Overnight, weekend and statutory holiday call-outs carry a premium, and a firm price is confirmed on the phone before dispatch.
What we do once we get there
Coverage is only half of it. The same three divisions of work travel to every address on this page: residential, commercial and automotive. Nothing on the van changes because the postcode does.

Everyday jobs are house lockouts, car lockouts, rekeys after a move or a tenant change, lock repairs, and replacement car keys. Commercial work runs from office lock changes to panic hardware and fob access control. If you are unsure which of those you need, the guide to what a locksmith does is the place to start.
Typical prices across the service area
Prices do not change by town. What changes is the drive, and for anywhere beyond about thirty minutes a scheduled visit is usually better value than an emergency call-out.
| Job | Typical range (CAD) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Service call and attendance, business hours | $49 – $95 | Usually folded into the job price |
| House lockout, non-destructive entry | $95 – $180 | Any hour, any town on this page |
| Car lockout | $95 – $200 | Depends on the vehicle |
| Rekey a residential cylinder | $25 – $45 each | Plus the service call |
| Grade 1 deadbolt supplied and installed | $130 – $260 | Includes strike reinforcement |
| Commercial cylinder supplied and keyed | $60 – $130 each | |
| Booked installation visit (cameras, access control, master keying) | Quoted per job | Scheduled rather than dispatched |
These ranges are typical rather than quotes, and apply across the whole service area. Overnight, weekend and statutory holiday call-outs carry a premium. A firm price is confirmed on the phone before a technician is dispatched.
How coverage actually works from here
Complete directory: every town and neighbourhood page
Every community below has its own page covering the housing stock, the drive from Newmarket and the lock problems typical there. If your town is on this list, we cover it — and if it is not, call anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right van for it.
Newmarket neighbourhoods come first, then the East Gwillimbury communities, then Georgina and the lakeshore, then Bradford and South Simcoe, then the southern York Region towns.
Frequently asked questions
Which towns does Locksmith Newmarket actually cover?
Newmarket and all its neighbourhoods, Aurora, East Gwillimbury including Holland Landing, Sharon, Queensville and Mount Albert, Georgina including Keswick, Sutton, Jacksons Point and Pefferlaw, Bradford West Gwillimbury including Bond Head, plus King City, Schomberg, Stouffville and Richmond Hill. Every one of those has a page on this site with the drive time and the local housing stock set out.
Is the 20 to 30 minute response time real?
For an emergency call-out to a Newmarket address in normal conditions, yes — that is the figure we work to and it holds most of the time. It is not a promise for other towns, for booked installation work, or for a February ice storm. Every other community on this page has its own honest drive time listed, and you get the figure for your actual address when you call.
Do you charge more to come to Keswick or Bradford?
Job pricing does not change by town. What changes is the drive, and on a longer run an emergency call-out is a less efficient way to buy the work than a scheduled visit. If your job is not urgent — a rekey after a purchase, a set of new cylinders, a camera install — booking it saves money everywhere outside Newmarket.
Do you have an office in Aurora, Keswick or Bradford?
No. There is one base, in Newmarket, and a van that drives out from it. We say that plainly because the alternative — implying a branch in every town — is one of the things that makes people distrust this trade. What you get is the same technician and the same van, with the drive time stated honestly up front.
Why are there two Mount Albert pages on this site?
They cover different needs. The Mount Albert locksmith page covers the general range of residential and commercial work in the village and the surrounding concession roads. The 24-hour Mount Albert page is for after-hours emergencies — lockouts, broken keys, a door that will not secure at midnight. Either number reaches the same company.
Do you cover Toronto, Markham or Vaughan?
Not routinely, and we would rather say so than take the booking. Our territory is central and northern York Region plus South Simcoe. South Richmond Hill is roughly the edge of it. If you are in Markham, Vaughan or the city, there will be a van substantially closer to you than ours, and on an emergency that difference matters more than anything else.
Do you cover rural properties and farms?
Yes — a good share of the work in East Gwillimbury, King, Schomberg and the concession roads around Mount Albert is rural. Outbuildings, shop doors, gate padlocks, equipment storage and older farmhouse mortise locks. Give the fire number or the nearest concession and sideroad when you call rather than a street address, because that is what actually gets a van to the right laneway.
Are you available on holidays and overnight everywhere in the service area?
Yes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across the whole area on this page. Overnight, weekend and statutory holiday call-outs carry a premium, which is quoted on the phone before dispatch. The further out you are, the more that quote reflects the drive, and we will tell you the arrival time before you commit rather than after.
